There’s something especially special about fear. It ravages our insides, making us feel vulnerable and scared. It takes apart the pieces of courage we thought we had and if we’re not careful, it can win. It’s up to us to make sure that, that doesn’t happen, but sometimes we can’t help it. It’s not always easy to break away from fear. It can be the most debilitating thing you’ve ever experienced. So, how do we move past it?
For me, it’s a matter of pushing forward and remembering that even though you’re scared, you can do it. Feel the fear and do it anyway. That’s by no means a quote to inspire reckless action, but rather, words that are meant to lift you up and help you get through that which you’re afraid of. I’m sure everyone has heard the quote that refers to courage not being the absence of fear but rather the assessment that something else is more important than fear. It’s something Franklin D. Roosevelt said.
For me, they’re words to live by. You can’t go through life always afraid of that which holds you back. You must break free from it and remember that you’re here for a reason, and that reason isn’t to simply be afraid of something. Whatever it takes to get you through it. If you’re not harming yourself or others, you can be sure that you will make it. After all, we all have our battles. We have to fight them…and just remember what’s waiting on the other side. Sure, there’s going to be hard times again…but there will be even better times too. And that’s what’s so beautiful about life. Everything changes.
Blessed Be
