It’s Okay to Break

Have you ever had one of those moments where it seems like it’s all you can do just to hold it together? I think we all run into it eventually. The terrible feeling that you’re about to burst with terrible emotions! It’s like an inner battle you just can’t win. I have personally fell victim to such moments. However, no one seems to remember that it’s okay to have a breakdown….within reason. By no means should you go burning down towns because your heart is broken. But if you need to break…do it. Let it all unfold. Feel that terrible misery at its fullest, and come out on the other side feeling better. It may take a few days, weeks, or even months, but your emotions will improve. Don’t listen to that nagging thing inside telling you that it won’t get better, because it will. I’m living proof of that.

You might think that your situation is different. Perhaps it is. But believing that you will make it through it can sometimes be enough to actually pull through. We don’t make it through struggles easily. That’s why they’re called struggles. We have to push forward. I know I say that quite often, but it’s so true. We have to keep going for the sake of ourselves and others. It’s important to remind yourself that every day. You are worth it. You can become whatever you want to be. All you need is the courage in your heart and the dedication to make it happen. You have the power to bring new beginnings forward.
