TODAY I LEARNED: Sophophobia is the fear of learning.
It’s a new year! That means it’s time to really gather our thoughts and think about what we want this year to become.
It also means I need to decide on what direction I want my blog to go. I’ve been giving it a lot of thought and the blog will either be dismissed or furthered…I just don’t know which end of the bridge I’m leaning towards.
There are so many new and exciting things planned for this year that I’ve decided to take a new route with my perspective and with the way I handle things. This comes in terms of how I deal with people, how my life will start to change, and how things are meant to fall apart or come back together.
I’ve learned a bunch of different lessons in 2019 and now it’s time for me to really start thinking about something else. Where do I go from here?
I’ve decided it’s important to do as much as you can, but not too much to the point that you stress yourself out. I will give my best, while knowing that nothing has to be perfect, because perfection is impossible and honestly, a hideous word.
I will walk with my head held high into the new year knowing that things are going to make a turn for the better.
And they will. With careful planning and a sure attitude, I will make sure of that.
Fear played a big part in 2019, giving me lessons I never thought I would have to deal with. Those lessons led me to a very levelheaded place, believe it or not.
In the moment, when things are rough, you never think you’re going to get out of it. Yet, somehow life finds a way of surprising us then knocking us back on our feet so we can try again.
I noticed a plant today. I’m not sure what type it is, but it was growing out of a crack in the cement when I got home. In the bracing cold, it somehow managed to break through concrete and make its way to the light.
This is the same plant I saw a few weeks ago, when I was struggling with some anxiety issues. To see how it’s grown is insane. It gives me inspiration that we can push on, regardless of what is around us. We can reach for new experiences, people, and places.
And I know, a lot of you think, wow really? A plant gave you inspiration? Yes, it did. I think plants can teach us a lot of things.
Nothing is beyond our reach if we believe in ourselves.
So, that being said, here’s to this new year! I hope it is filled with amazing events for you all and I pray that life treats you with what you deserve. May the universe bring you exactly what you need and then some.
Also, screw what others think about you. That has no place in your new way of life this year. If those thoughts start to creep back in, you let them go. It doesn’t matter what someone else has to say about your life. It only matters what you think and do with it.
Happy New Year!
