Oddly Me

People are rude. It’s as simple as that. When we are down and life is taking its sweet time improving, “people” have a knack for knocking us down when we need it the least. They can be unrelenting and forceful. So what choice do we have but to suck it up? It’s terrible, and no one should have to go through such terrible public torture. The terrible thing is, no one sees any of it as torture because it’s not vividly apparent as such. When we look at someone who has to put up a face everyday, we don’t see them screaming inside. You can’t feel that pain trying to crawl through as they hold their breath. What are we left with? A nothingness without reward is almost always the consequence. And all for the sake of the job. It’s daunting, inevitable, and most importantly…necessary. At least, it is when you’re in a certain line of work.

This isn’t to say that I hate my job. In fact, it’s entirely the opposite. I love both my jobs very much and I’m doing what I want to do right now and there are quite a few people out there who can’t say the same. We are lucky and so blessed to have the ability to do and be what we want. There’s no need for someone to bring another person down for something like happiness, yet it happens everyday. What is our purpose? Why are we here? We are constantly asking ourselves these questions. It’s an interesting thing…to wonder and wonder about your destiny. Then again, it’s hard to really see through the looking glass at what’s right in front of you.
