Oddly Me

Today truly was an amazing day. Well, I say day, but really my “days” are nights. It was a great one though. Had a few spooky happenings but all is well. It’s shocking to type that word. Happy. Not because I don’t normally feel it but as a result of the past, I’m always wondering when the other shoe will drop. Life is an up and down roller coaster and we never know when the downs are just around the corner. We keep our head held high but something always seems to happen to tear us down. If it’s going to happen anyway, why not revel in the joy while you can? I think it’s a great thought. We don’t always get what we want, so while it’s happening, enjoy it. It’s important to be thankful for what we have.

I’ll admit, I’ve been guilty of taking certain things for granted lately. Small things like safety, air conditioning, or running water. They’re important, but when you have them everyday, you barely give them a second thought. It’s easy to get used to something. Even when we’re trying our best, we can lose sight of the things that really matter. Whether it be a big deal or a small thing, it all has its place and we really should consider ourselves blessed. If you’re healthy and free of worry, go you. If you’re not, there’s still something to be thankful for. They say as long as you’re breathing, there’s always thanks to be had.

I consider that to be true. With that being said, I am happy. I live a happy life. Slowly but surely I’m making my way towards my goals. Things are actually happening and it’s exciting! But don’t get me wrong. Life isn’t always rainbows and butterflies. The bad days will come…but remember that the good ones will come too. I’m not sure what the next few blog posts are going to be about, but I have a really great feeling that they’re going to be different but just as great!
