Slow Down

Emotional level: 8

Mental level: 8

TODAY I LEARNED: There is a device that uses sound waves to put out fires.

One of the most important things to remember when it comes to mental health is the reminder to slow down. Sometimes we get so caught up with our own lives we forget there isn’t a rule that says we have to rush. In fact, slowing down is a very useful tool.

There are a lot of people nowadays who say they don’t have time to slow down. Their lives are simply too busy. But isn’t that the problem? Our lives are so hectic and full on a daily basis, quite often, we forget that in order relieve some of that daily stress, we simply need to stop and just be.

Sometimes all you can afford is a 10 minute meditation each day and that’s alright. A little yoga never hurt anyone either, but obviously not everyone has time for yoga. We tend to go for the shorter amount in regards to meditation which is fine, but we need all the help we can get when it comes to stress.

I try my best to have at least one 10 minute session of meditation each day. I sit down, cross my legs and drift into the simple state of being. Sometimes I am able to do it longer and other times, not so much. But the important thing is that you do it and commit to it.

Next time you’re feeling a bit stressed and out of sorts, simply slow down. Stop thinking so much so fast and just…take your time.

Blessed Be )O(
