It is getting closer to Halloween and I can’t help but express it in my articles the past couple of weeks. People will, of course, be making plans to dress up and go trick ‘r treating, go to parties and many other events. However, I found myself delving into deep religious practices and rituals of the Druids, finally finding my way to a page about Witchcraft. It held information about different holidays that witches tend to believe in and specific details on what happens when these holidays occur. One of them really struck me as intriguing.
Apparently, Halloween, or Samhain, is a time when a festival was once held that announced the end of harvest season and the beginning of the “darker half” of the year. It is also a time where spells are done in order to honor the dead and supposedly contact them. I was taken back by this. Mainly, because it’s truly amazing how much we seem to quickly shift our attention to someone when they speak of talking to dead loved ones. It’s only normal, though. Who wouldn’t want to talk to a dead loved one if you had the chance. I’m told that this is a ritual one can do on their own and I have decided to see if anything they say is true. I’m not entirely sure of the results, but if anything, I think it will be fun.
I felt like writing about this, simply because it isn’t something you hear about everyday and, of course, I’m very much into the supernatural and always seeking new and mysterious things. Also, just recently I had a couple losses in the family. I feel like it would be the perfect time to try out something such as this.
