Today is a strange day…mainly because we don’t know what we have until it’s gone. The reason I am saying something so depressing is simple and true. A large majority of people around the world feel like they’re not getting kudos where its due. Granted hard work is expected for kudos, but when that hard work is put out and nothing comes back, we feel defeated, even though we worked damn hard!
This isn’t to say we are expecting a reward for a job well done. It’s a means of expressing oneself for the hard work they have pushed through. Just hearing the words, “you’re doing a great job”, can be some of the best ever. However, when you’re working towards something that doesn’t feel worth it…why keep trying as hard as you do? If no one sees your hard work, why even try? I don’t believe we give enough credit to our small town jobs. For those who have to make it with minimum wage and struggle with every step, it’s hard to see how life can really be worth that minimum. I feel like the trick is to simply keep moving forward. There always seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel, and a speed bump to go along with it. But to keep on keeping on means that you haven’t given up. As long as you’re breathing and your heart is beating, you have a purpose.
I think that’s all the motivation I can muster today. It’s rainy outside and there are a ton of people going about their day. They’re pouring a cup of coffee, or listening to the rain drops as they hit the ground. Me? I’m wondering when the next adventure will begin, and something tells me it will be very soon.
