Failure Is Not Permanent

Emotional level: 8

Mental level: 7

TODAY I LEARNED: A Blue Whale’s heart is the size of a VW Beetle and large enough that you could swim through its arteries.

Failure is a funny thing. Sometimes it hits you when you least expect it and other times you stare failure straight in the face and wait for its inevitable coming. I can’t express how many times I’ve failed in life. That sounds like a sad statement, but it’s indeed the opposite. I failed so I could learn. Then, after I learned, I was able to succeed. Failure isn’t something that completely destroys our lives. It’s a form of pain that works in the strangest ways. It helps us to see our mistakes so that we may fix things and make them better the next time around.

Granted, no one wants to hear that they’re going to fail, but failure isn’t permanent. With each failure you gain a new piece of knowledge, something you didn’t have before. It reinvents the way you look at things and takes you on a new journey. Because without failure, there can be no success. You have to fail a few times to finally get what you’re striving towards. Sometimes we get lucky and succeed when we want to and it is a wonderful thing, but don’t let failure induce something terrible within you. Remind yourself that failure is simply one more step towards the thing you desire most. Don’t let a skipping stone become a giant boulder.

It’s easy to look at the entire process with disappointment and regret, but try to remember that the down times matter too. We need the bad as much as we need the good. We may not want it, but it’s there for a reason. While we may not see it in the moment, this down time is happening for a reason. It makes us stronger and allows us to strive towards realizing we are capable of. We can do so much when we put our minds to it. Patience and persistence will get you through a lot of life’s troubles. Also, if you ever need a friend or just someone to talk to, know I’m here. I may not be a therapist or a psychologist, but I do understand hardship and suffering. I can’t be the ultimate answer, but I can definitely be a friend. 😊

Blessed Be )O(
