TODAY I LEARNED: Vikings didn’t wear horned helmets.
Today I feel better. I’ve been sick and let me tell you, it was hell. I thought for sure I had something more serious, but as it turns out, this terrible cold/flu thing has almost passed. It’s strange how much your thoughts change when you’re sick. One minute you feel fine, and the next, it seems like your whole world is being turned upside down by all the little things.
Being sick is never fun…but I will say it makes me thankful for the good days. After you come out of the worst parts of the sickness, somehow, you’re glad to be feeling better. Maybe it’s because when we’re sick, we want to feel better so bad. Then, when it finally comes, it’s the best thing ever.
But at the same time, depression and anxiety really threaten your state of mind when you’re sick. I tried my best to stay optimistic and at times it was more than I could handle. However, I pushed through, and I made it to the other end of the sickly tunnel. Telling myself that pushing forward really is the trick. You just have to remind yourself however often you need that moving forward will get you to where you want and need to be.
It’s certainly not easy and we’re only human. We’re going to make mistakes and that’s okay. Let yourself make mistakes, but don’t let yourself get caught up in them. You can always try again. And again. No matter how many times, it takes, you will get there if you just keep pushing forward.
Blessed Be )O(
