TODAY I LEARNED: There is an 87-year-old woman in Japan who owns a restaurant by day and spins techno at a club in Tokyo by night. They call her DJ Dumpling.”
I’m no longer seeking perfection. The joys of life often come from the most imperfect and immeasurable things. That being said, it makes sense to try and stay away from making sure things are “perfect.” The concept of perfection is a tricky thing. We can get caught up in the idea of perfection without even realizing it and it can make us miserable as crap.
If you’re always trying to make sure that something is just right or just near perfect, you won’t be very happy. Instead we should do our very best. And that can be whatever you’re best is at that time. Sometimes we’re sick, tired, or just done with everything. In those moments, your best isn’t going to be the same as when you are fully energized and ready to go.
So I say today try to be “not perfect.” Just do your best because honestly that’s all any of us are trying to do and it’s enough. Believe me…it really is. 😊
