Take Your Time – It’s Okay To Do So

Emotional level: 7

Mental level: 7

TODAY I LEARNED: Elvis was actually blonde.

“I’m running late!”

“I’m out of time!”

“I’ll never get to work on time!”

“I wish I had more time!”

I tell myself at least one of these phrases every single day…it never fails. Somehow, no matter what we do, we simply do not have enough time during the day to finish our tasks and goals. We have our good days, where everything goes precisely right and tasks are completed with fulfillment, but there always seems to be more time deprived days than most. Life keeps rushing by and we forget one very important thing…to slow down.

I feel as though I’ve been rushing things. I’ve since slowed my pace when it comes to “rushing” through the day, and came to a quick conclusion. The time throughout your day will pass regardless of how fast or slow you go, so why not go at your own pace?

We are raised in a world that teaches us to go fast. People tell us as we grow up that fast is efficient and fast will get you where you want to be. As we mature, we quickly learn that most of the time, that’s not the case.

Slow down. I tell myself repeatedly throughout the day to do so and there’s nothing wrong with it. Sometimes my ADHD really gets going and I just can’t help it. But I remind myself to take my time and go at my own pace. Everyone’s pace is going to be different, so going your own way, at the speed that works best for you, makes the most sense.

The time is going to pass regardless…so take your time.

Blessed Be )O(
