Don’t Let People Tear You Down

Emotional state: still happy

Mental state: ADHD struggle

A lot of people suffer from learning disorders. Sometimes it’s dyslexia and sometimes it’s ADHD. There are many others, but these two specifically I hear people complain about a lot. Personally, I suffer from ADHD and at times…it’s not a fun ride. I just want to pitch a friendly reminder that if you have a certain type of learning disability, that doesn’t mean you’re not smart or that you can’t do what you want to do in life.

Just because your brain is wired differently than someone else’s, that doesn’t mean you are any less of a wonderful person who is capable of learning. Granted it’s harder to learn sometimes when you have a learning disability, but it’s not impossible. I use various daily routines, methods, and meditation to help with my ADHD and it really does help. I’m not going to lie, though. I do have my bad days where focus is just not on the table. Usually I’m super tired when it happens, but just like everyone else, you have to ride out the rough days. You just have to take them in strides and remember that they won’t last forever.

I think we are all given our walks of life for a reason; even the terrible parts that never seem to make sense. We get caught up in the misery of it all and sometimes we can’t see the bigger picture. But through that misery, there’s something more. Everyone is meant to do something in life; even you.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know, whoever and wherever you are, it doesn’t matter what kind of learning, physical, mental, or emotional problems you have, you are still wonderful and capable of great things. You can still push through the terrible things happening to you each day and make something of yourself. You just have to believe. (That’s cheesy, I know). But people really don’t realize just how true it is…
