TODAY I LEARNED: You are more likely to be killed by a champagne cork than by a spider.
Today my energy is lost in a whirlwind of sleep loss and caffeine. I ask myself all the time what really drives me to be a better person. I would love to take the easy route and just say that it’s caffeine, but life is much more complex than a fizzy beverage with uppity juice. I can’t speak for other people, but I feel that multiple things drive me to become better.
In my life it’s family, friends, and daily morals. We remind ourselves of these uplifting things just to make life a bit better with each passing moment. We continue along a path of ideals and feelings of importance until we hit a snag in the road. We cry, we hurt, and then we move on.
It sounds simple…but life isn’t simple. We certainly have our simple moments, but the entire complexity of life itself is ridiculously irritating sometimes. We’re fighting, we’re pushing, and all of it comes from the drive to do and be better than we were yesterday…right?
For some it’s a competition and for others it’s a chance to make something of themselves. We certainly don’t have to become something if we don’t want to. However, remaining stagnant and still for the rest of our lives is a mistake. We need to be something, anything. Because nothing is horrible, and it doesn’t improve who you are. Trying to be better each day is what helps you and changes you. It keeps you going. And that’s what we need to do…keep going.
