Anxiety Mornings Are The Worst

Emotional level: 6

Mental level: 6

TODAY I LEARNED: The pressure to feel upbeat can make you feel downbeat. Embracing your darker moods is better in the long-run, psychology researchers found.

My body craves adventure. I deeply yearn to explore a new place, go looking for ghosts, or learn about a location with so much history attached to it that our human brains can’t even comprehend it.

On top of that, I’m anxious. I woke up with anxiety wrapping its dirty little hands around my throat, forcing me to entertain darker thoughts. Starting your day while you feel like you’re drowning isn’t the most ideal…but I guess we get through it don’t we?

It took me an hour to get out of bed. A few breathing techniques accompanied by some mindfulness and I was decent. Not 100% but good enough to at least start the day…even if it was slowly.

The calm moments start with breathing. Your breath matters more than people even realize. A deep breath can go a long way.

Sometimes jotting down your thoughts in that moment can help. Other times you can try to meditate. Sometimes meditation is hard to do when your heart is fluttering, experiencing palpitations, or feeling that unbearable tightness in your chest that terrifies you and leads to other horrendous thoughts.

But at the breath lies the start. Take that deep breath and feel yourself calm down. No matter what, I try to keep in my mind that things really will be okay, and I’ll get through this one, just like I got through the others. Don’t let it keep you from your day. Take the time you need to just be with yourself.

Sometimes all these solutions we’re offered by professionals, family, and friends don’t work. Instead, you take deep breaths when you can, and wait until it’s over. You wait it out. As scary as that sounds, it does end and you will start to feel better.

That feeling eventually dims enough for you to get out of bed, and start your day. Slowly.

So, brush off that old energy. Accept that life is filled with good and bad. Embrace the evening.

Become you again, at least for today. Because sometimes, that’s all you can do is look at today. Don’t let yourself worry about yesterday or tomorrow. Focus entirely on the present moment you are in right now. Also, allow yourself to mess up.

Staying focused on the here and now isn’t easy at all and it’s not something you will perfect, because it’s not meant to be perfected. It’s there to be practiced.

Learn to live another day. You will be okay.

Another thing to add is gratitude. I know, you see people talking about it all the time. But it really is a big part of raising your vibration.

Be thankful for the things that you have. Even the small things. Those tiny pieces of your everyday life become huge when you realize how lucky you are to have them.

But that’s not everything.

Combine that with the realization that you are still alive, still breathing, still willing to move forward, and you can keep holding on.

Keep your spirits high and alive.

Remember that compassion is our natural state.

Have a great day and night, everyone.

Blessed Be )O(
